The Things We Need (Our Wish List):

  • A well maintained Riding Mower:   Ours is on its last leg :(   This is a necessity for maintaining nice grass on the property. The Alpaca do a reasonable job cutting the grass, but the mower is much more consistent!
  • Chain Link or Welded Wire Fencing, t-posts or regular posts:  When you have dogs, you can never, ever have too much of this stuff!
  • Doggie Play Sets and Agility Items: Fun, fun, fun for dogs!
  • A Generator: We lose power occasionally over the winter and it’s not much fun!! We need to have power to run the well, and the stove, etc.
  • A Propane Heater: Cuz when we lose power, it’s really cold…brrrrr.
  • Sofa’s, loveseats and overstuffed chairs: Options for dogs to sleep on!
  • A Refrigerator: to store our fresh, omega 3 eggs.
  • Wire crates of any size: We always crate the dog at meal time. No need to have a squabble over dinner…

* Note: While donations of any of the items above will be greatly appreciated, another option  might be to coordinate a fundraiser to purchase an individual item. Maybe your company would be willing to help out.  Also, consider whether you or your company might be willing to ’sponsor’ purchasing one of our items such as a Riding Mower.  We will acknowledge your company name on the mower itself (can’t you just see our riding mower painted like a sponsored race car?!) Sponsors get a free ride on the mower any time they come to visit!

Programs supported by your donations

* Indigo Rescue General Fund: In addition to routine admin costs, one of our primary goals is to develop new and practical programs to encourage more of our community to spay/neuter their pets. We continue to monetarily and through volunteer hours, support annual spay/neuter programs we co-created.  We have ongoing veterinary bills for our long-term fosters and for animals who run out of time at the county shelters or have health or behavior problems that make them unadoptable in a shelter environment. Donations to this fund allow us to continue our day-to-day work to end animal abandonment. We also make educational presentations to schools or clubs in the community who want to learn more about how they can help the homeless animal population.

* Spay Neuter Incentive Program (S/N/I/P) This is our targeted Spay Neuter program that works with communities, neighborhoods and apartment complexes.  Write ‘S/N/I/P’ in the memo field of your check.

* Indigo Rescue Emergency Fund One of the services Indigo Rescue provides is surgery for animals with injuries  or boarding for animals with rehabilitative behaviour issues the shelters would otherwise be forced to euthanize.  It’s important to note that with your continued tax-deductible donations made to Indigo’s “emergency fund,” we will be able to continue to pay for the medical care necessary to save these animals.
